Sub-archive of the General Ephorate of Antiquities (1834-1846)

The sub-archive of the General Ephorate of Antiquities includes correspondence concerning the antiquities from the entirety of Greece. The first Ephor of antiquities was German philologist Ludwig Ross, who served from October 1834 to September 1836. He was succeeded by his associate Kyriakos Pittakis, who remained General Ephor of Antiquities for 27 years, from 1836 to 1863.
