Sub-archive of the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Public Education (1846-1926)
The correspondence produced by the Archaeological Department of the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Public Education is kept at the HAAR. The archival material presents a peculiarity as to its classification, which is also reflected in the surviving indexes. Until 1909, both thematic and geographical classification were used. From 1910 onwards, the archival material is divided into general thematic categories following a chronological order. Each year includes all current cases handled by each Ephorate of Antiquities.
